AAIC 2018 | Air pollution exposure over life and cognitive decline

Air pollution is known to have a significant effect on the lungs of individuals; however, recently, it is being said to affect the brain and the heart as well. Here, Tom Russ, PhD, of the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK, talks about the new field of research this information has opened up, and mentions some of the hurdles that must be overcome in order to answer critical questions about the link between air pollution and neurodegeneration, before describing a study his group is carrying out to determine at what stage of life air pollution is most harmful. This interview took place at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2018, held in Chicago, IL.
