AAIC 2020 | Education quality and neurological plasticity

Justina Avila-Rieger, PhD, Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY, discusses how cognitive reserve can be a buffer to neurological insult as it allows higher neurological plasticity. Further, she talks about how years of education is not an equitable factor between white and black individuals and offers that quality of education would be a more suitable indicator of measuring cognitive reserve. This interview was recorded during an online conference call with The Video Journal of Dementia (VJDementia).
