Daniela Galimberti, PhD from the University of Milan, Milan, Italy discusses genetic counseling in dementia at the 2017 Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Dr Galimberti explains the genetic factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) as well as the importance of distinguishing between causative mutations and risk factors. Further, she discusses techniques for genetic counseling.
