AAIC 2023 | Increasing participation of underrepresented groups in clinical trials

Doris Molina-Henry, PhD, University of Southern California, San Diego, CA, discusses efforts to increase participation of underrepresented groups in clinical trials. Ongoing work aims to better understand how to engage underrepresented populations in research. To ensure different demographic groups are being represented, study teams are prioritizing communication through the media, working with study sites, providing information on study websites which are relevant and tailored to underrepresented populations, and providing a central way for participants to sign-up to determine if the study is right for them. This interview took place at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® (AAIC) 2023 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
