Vast quantities of data are produced from studies; however, this data is rarely aggregated into larger sets, limiting its potential use. The European Medical Information Framework (EMIF) platform is developing a framework to enhance access to human health data across Europe for a range of diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease (EMIF-AD). Speaking from the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2018, held in Chicago, IL, Pieter Jelle Visser, MD, PhD, of VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, Netherlands, discusses the benefits of EMIF-AD in advancing Alzheimer’s research.
